Last week, we began a new series titled "Things That Must Be Believed." In this series, we will discuss the essentials of the Christian faith -- these are things that you cannot deny and still have Christianity. Last week, we looked at the first two essentials which are: The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ and The Deity of Jesus Christ.

Today, we are going to discuss the next two essentials in this series, which are: The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ and The Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead.

1. THE SUBSTITUTIONARY DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST

If Jesus Christ did not die on a cross in the sinner's place to pay the sinner's debt, then we don't have a way to be saved. II Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him -- Jesus Christ -- to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." This verse is simply stating that God allowed Jesus Christ to take our place, our punishment, and our perishing as sinners so that we can have the righteousness of God. Isaiah 53:6 says, "..the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." If you deny the vicarious sufferings of Jesus Christ, you have denied an essential doctrine of the Christian faith.

The Gospel story is simple. We are sinners. We owe a sin debt. Jesus Christ was not a sinner. He died on a cross and suffered Hell to pay our sin debt. And we are saved by trusting Him as our Saviour. The dirtiest gang of thieves this side of Hell is a gang of religious thieves who are trying to climb up to Heaven by some way other than the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ. Any plan that bypasses the cross is absolutely futile.

J.C. Ryle said, "If Christ had not gone to the cross and suffered in our stead, the just for the unjust, there would not have been a spark of hope for us. There would have been a mighty gulf between ourselves and God, which no man ever could have passed." Friends, the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ is an essential truth that must be believed.

Now, let's move on...

II. THE PHYSICAL RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD

The Bible says in Matthew 28:1-6: "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre [the tomb where Jesus was buried]

"And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

"His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

"And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

If a man denies the resurrection of Christ, he is not saved. Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." The resurrection of Jesus Christ is an essential truth that must be believed.

That which separates Christianity from all other religions is the resurrection. Every religion has a founder who lived and died and is still in the tomb. But Christianity has a Founder who lived and died and was buried, and after three days and nights arose from the dead.

H.D.A. Major wrote the following: "Had the crucifixion of Jesus ended His disciples' experience of Him, it is hard to see how the Christian Church could have come into existence. The Church was founded on faith in the Messiahship of Jesus. A crucified Messiah was no Messiah at all. He was one rejected by Judaism and accursed by God. It was the Resurrection of Jesus, as St. Paul describes in Romans 1:4, which proclaimed Him to be the Son of God with power."

A little girl was talking about Christ. And a skeptic who was standing nearby said, "Little girl, you keep talking about Christ this and Christ that. There are many Christs. Which one are you talking about?" The little girl replied, "I'm talking about the one who arose from the dead!"

W.J. Sparrow-Simpson said, "If the Resurrection is not historic fact,then the power of death remains unbroken, and with it the effect of sin; and the significance of Christ's Death remains uncertified, and accordingly believers are yet in their sins, precisely where they were before they heard of Jesus' name."

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the keystone in the arch. Destroy the resurrection and the whole arch will collapse. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is an essential truth that must be believed.

Now, if you are listening to me today, and you know within your heart that you have not accepted the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ as the way for you to be saved from sin and death and hell, allow me to share with you from God's Word how you can accept the free gift that Jesus died and rose from the dead to give to you.

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

We smile at the crowd's failure to appreciate something new or different. But being wrong can be a serious problem when it comes to our relationship to God. Too much is at stake.

Because you and I have sinned against God and man, we deserve God's punishment. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 that "the wages of sin is death," eternal separation from God.

But God offers us "eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord", according to Romans 6:23. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

You can be wrong about many things, but you dare not be wrong about Christ. Through faith in Him you can be saved just as you are. Your sins can be forgiven and the peace of God can fill your life: John 1:12 says, "As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name".

Whom will you choose? The crowd or Christ?

If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer with all of your heart:

Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

He is a New York Times bestselling author many times over. He is also an attorney. He is best known for his popular legal thrillers such as "A Time to Kill". He began writing in 1984, and had his first novel "A Time To Kill" published in June 1989. ]]>

As of 2008, his books have sold over 250 million copies worldwide, and he is one of only three authors to sell two million copies on a first printing. His first best seller was "The Firm". Released in 1991, it sold more than seven million copies. The book was later adapted into a feature film. Seven of his other novels have been adapted into films as well, including: The Chamber, The Client, A Painted House, The Pelican Brief, Skipping Christmas, The Rainmaker, and The Runaway Jury. His books have been translated into 29 languages and published worldwide.

He and his wife teach Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Oxford. He says of the millions that he makes from his writing, "I used to ask God all the time, why me? I don't know why it happened to me. God has a purpose for it. We are able to contribute an awful lot of money to his work, and maybe that's why...Both my wife and I have middle-class backgrounds and we've struggled with the overnight financial rewards of being a best-selling author. We give a lot of money to churches, missions, charities." He not only shares his wealth but he also shares his time by taking missions trips and putting his physical back to work along with his financial backing. The missions trips help him remain aware of how much he has and how little some other people have on which to survive each day.

He tells of his salvation experience, "I was eight years old. We lived in Arkansas at the time. Back then, my father often worked seven days a week. My mother had us bathed and scrubbed and in church every Sunday. She's a devout Christian. I came under conviction when I was in the third grade, and I talked with my mother. I told her, 'I don't understand this, but I need to talk to you.' We talked, and she led me to Jesus. The following Sunday I made a public confirmation of my faith. In one sense, it was not terribly eventful for an eight-year-old, but it was the most important event in my life. It did not readily change me, but it was very real nonetheless." His name is John Grisham.

This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as John Grisham gave his life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:

He played college football for the Auburn Tigers. He became just the third player in major college football history to both rush and pass for 20 or more touchdowns in a single season. His performance earned him the Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding college football player, and he led Auburn to their second national championship in school history. In his NFL debut, he became the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to throw for 400 yards in his NFL regular-season opener, breaking Peyton Manning's rookie record.

He stood tall on and off the field in victory, after overcoming hurdles during the regular season that included an NCAA investigation. After winning the national championship in college football, he was quick to offer praise to God. "It's just a God thing," he told a crush of reporters as he stood on the field. "I thank God every single day. I'm just His instrument and He's using me on a consistent basis daily."

In his remarks after the game, he continued to marvel at the ways God is using him. "He's using me to extend his Word and I'm a prime example of how God could turn something that was bad into something that was very great." "If God is with me who can be against me." His name is Cam Newton.

This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as Cam Newton gave his life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:

A traveler was walking along the road. He had a swing blade upon his shoulder and an hourglass in his hand. He walked with measured, exact footsteps. His eyes looked straight in front, and they never moved either to the right or left, but gazed on what was beyond. I said to him,

"What is your name?"

"My name is Time."

"Where are you going?"

"I am going to eternity."

"What is the number of your years?"

He showed me an open book, and on the page just turned over was written the date of the year just begun.

Where he went I followed, but even as I went I felt I could not tell how long I should follow. I saw one person after another stop in the road, and lie down to rise no more. They were left behind, for Time paused not; his course was unstopped.

Yes, my friend, you are walking with Time on the road of life in a new year begun. But you may not go far; you may pass the buds of Spring, but never see the flowers of Summer. Or, you may watch the leaves fall from the Autumn trees, and lie beneath them in the Winter. But whether your days on earth are to be few or many, are you ready for eternity?

You may have begun this year with gray hair and other signs of old age, or you may be facing the future with youthful buoyancy. But whether you are old or young, God would have you number your days, and apply your heart to wisdom. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

To begin the year with God is more important than anything else in this world. The Bible says in Isaiah 55:6-7: "Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon".

The dawning of a new year serves to remind us that we are all marching through time, heading for eternity. Awaiting each traveler is either a glad and glorious heaven in the presence of God, or a sad and sorrowful hell, banished from God. The eternal Son of God entered into time as the man Christ Jesus to make a way for sinful man to approach God and enter into life eternal. His death, burial and resurrection have fully accomplished this objective so that Jesus now proclaims in John 14:6, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me".

To personally "seek the Lord" is to realize that Christ died for your sins, and to trust His shed blood as the full and powerful payment needed to wash your sins away. 1 John 1:7 says, "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin". On the basis of Christ's atoning sacrifice, God abundantly pardons the repentant sinner and makes him a child of God forever. 1 Peter 3:18 stated, "Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God".

But you must seek Him now, "while He may be found," while there is still time, before you pass into eternity. In view of the uncertainty of life, how important it is to "Prepare to meet thy God", through faith in Christ as your personal Saviour! This alone will enable you to experience a truly "Happy New Year"--and look forward to a glorious eternity with absolute certainty.

If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer with all of your heart:

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

Allow me to leave something with you here at the beginning of this new year. It is something that I tell people at the beginning of a new year, and I put it in my book as well titled "How to Forget the Troubles, Problems, and Failures of the Past and Make the New Year the Best Year of Your Life".

And that is "There is no new year for you, if there is no new you for the new year."

Now that you have just trusted Christ as Saviour, this will indeed be a new year for you. If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. (I Peter 2:1-8)

It was 2005 when Christmas last fell on a Sunday and it is wonderful that we get to join together on this blessed holiday when Jesus Christ came into the world to ultimately die for us so that we can have the hope of salvation through Him.

You might recall last week that I began a two-part message series titled "6 Reasons Why Jesus Is So Precious". Allow me to briefly review the three main points.

1. Jesus is precious because His name is precious

- His name is a personal name

- His name is a powerful name

- His name is a permanent name

2. Jesus is precious because He is precious to the Father

- He is precious to the Father in His walk

- He is precious to the Father in His work

3. Jesus is precious because He is precious to the Scriptures

- He is the Scriptures

- He was upheld by the Scriptures

- He upheld the Scriptures

Today, on this Christmas Sunday morning, we want to address the last three reasons why Jesus Christ is so precious.

1. Jesus is precious because He is precious to the Saints.

A. He is precious to the saints because of what He has done.

Hebrews 2:9 (separation from God) - "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."

He has tasted death for every man.

B. Jesus is precious to the saints because of what He is doing.

What Is He Doing?

1. He is interceding for us. First John 2:1 reads, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

2. Jesus is working on us. Ephesians 2:10 reads, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

2. Jesus is precious because of His promises.

A. He has promised to supply our needs.

Philippians 4:19 reads, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

B. He has promised to snatch us away.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 reads, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

3. Lastly, Jesus is precious because He is precious to the sinner who wants to be saved.

Jesus Christ said in John 3:7, "Ye must be born again."

Dear friend, do you know Jesus Christ for yourself? Do you know the One who came into the world two thousand years ago today to ultimately die for the sins of the world so that we can have the hope of salvation? Do you know that Jesus is the real reason why we have Christmas? If you want to know Jesus Christ on tis Christmas, allow me to show you how straight from the Bible:

Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

Christmas Has No Meaning Outside Of Jesus Christ

Many families have special Christmas customs and traditions, involving decorations, meals, songs, and the exchanging of gifts with loved ones. All of these things are very nice, but is this the true meaning of Christmas?]]>

It seems that every year the stores put up their Christmas displays earlier and earlier, and that each year there is increasing pressure to buy more and more expensive gifts. There also seems to be a competition to see who can put up the largest and most elaborate display of decorations. With all of these things, it is very easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas.

But as we strip away the layers of glitter, commercialism, and tradition that surround the celebration of Christmas, the holiday's true meaning becomes easier to see. Here we can see a star that reminds us of the star that the wise men followed two thousand years ago while seeking the newborn King. Who is this King? As the angels said to the shepherds in Luke 2:11, "Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord". Christmas is the day that we celebrate the birth of the Christ--Jesus the Son of God.

What was the reason that Jesus left his home in heaven to come to this world? Was it simply to do good works, or to leave an example for us to follow? No, 1 Timothy 1:15 tells us, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners". He came to deal once and for all with the problem of sin that separates every one of us from God. "But I'm not a sinner!" you might say. Have you ever lied? Have you ever had an impure thought? God's Word is very true when it says in Romans 3:23, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God".

Yes, we are all sinners, and if judged on our own merits, would all come short of heaven. Sadly, many people don't realize the verse in Romans 14:12 that says "Every one of us shall give account of himself to God" and the verse in John 3:36 that says, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him". But here is where the distractions of the holiday disappear completely and the true meaning of Christmas becomes clear to see. Christmas is all about God's great love for us and the priceless gift that He offers to all.

This gift, the gift of eternal life, was purchased when Jesus, the sinless Sacrifice, died on the cross for our sins. Now He is risen from the dead and offers eternal life to everyone who will confess their sins to Him and trust Him as their Saviour. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life". If you have never made Jesus your Saviour, do it now. Then you can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!

Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for him.

Charles H. Spurgeon: "I have a great need for Christ; I have a great Christ for my need."

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save us from sin and from the punishment of sin, which is eternal separation from God in a place called Hell. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, please allow me to tell you how you can begin a personal relationship with Him:

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."

The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2:8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

7. If you are willing to trust Christ as your Saviour please pray with me the following prayer:

Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have sinned against you. For Jesus Christ's sake, please forgive me of all of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again for me. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart, save my soul, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and change my life. Amen.

"Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men" -- What it Really Means

Luke 2:14 reads, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Peace on earth? It doesn't look like it. The world is full of conflict. Since the angels' announcement we have seen an endless string of wars. The peace announced by the angels and brought by Jesus was very different than the end of war itself because fighting and war has gone on since the time of Jesus.

Jesus brought peace between us and God. We are by nature opposed to God and cannot find the way back to God by ourselves. Without God we are doomed to a life of conflict and distress.

But God sent His Son Jesus to make a way of return - to bring peace. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace because He brings peace to all who come to Him. Isaiah 9:6 says, His name shall be called...the Prince of Peace.

God's justice requires that satisfaction be made for the sins of rebellious people. This Jesus did by His death on the cross. Colossians 1:20-21 states, "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled..."

When a person believes and accepts this sacrifice, God forgives his sins and makes peace with him. Romans 5:1 says, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..."

When a person finds peace with God, war, illness and other distress will become merely a surface disturbance on a deep, calm sea. Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee."

Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Real peace is found only in Jesus. If you would like this peace, come to Jesus with sorrow for your sin and He will give you peace. If you will believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again, please pray this prayer with all of your heart:

Jesus, I am sorry for my sin and come to You for forgiveness and peace. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Make me into the person You want me to be. Amen.

What the Shepherds Heard

"Fear not," said the angel, expressing Heaven's desire. Sin has produced fear in man's heart, but this message is intended to dispel it.

"I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people." What a contrast with earth's news! Heaven's message--the Gospel--is truly "good news," and the reception of it brings joy to all!

"Unto you" introduces a personal appeal. "Is born this day in the city of David," tells a specific and definite fact. "A Saviour" reveals the necessity of the Gift. "Which is Christ the Lord" shows how wondrous in grace and majesty is the Person!

Then a sign was given to them, that they should find this glorious Saviour "wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." Suddenly, all was confirmed to them by a multitude of the Heavenly host breaking forth in chorus: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

What the Shepherds Did

What they heard stirred them to an immediate decision. They said, "Let us now go even unto Bethlehem and see this thing which the Lord hath made known to us." They could not be neutral about the matter; they dared not be indifferent concerning it. Faith in the message led them to instant action.

"They came with haste." The glory of the revelation from Heaven had gripped their hearts. Faith's acceptance of the message compelled them to go to Bethlehem with urgency. Such faith was rewarded, for they "found ... the Babe lying in a manger." Christ the Lord, the Subject of Heaven's "Good Tidings"--and the Object of their search--was before them.

"They made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this Child." Their testimony was the result of their faith. Returning to the fields to take up their responsibilities, they are now filled with a new joy, and are heard "glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them."

Dear Friend, the message from Heaven is still being proclaimed. 1 Timothy 1:15 says, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners". On Calvary's cross, 1 Peter 3:18 tells us that Jesus Christ "suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God", He finished the work necessary to redeem you from sin. Now He is risen from the dead--no longer in the manger, on the Cross, or in the tomb. He lives! And...

"Now from the Glory He waits to impart

Peace to the conscience and joy to the heart;

Waits to be gracious, to pardon and heal

All who their sin and their wretchedness feel."

Will you believe the message as the Shepherds did? Will you now come to the Saviour through repentance and faith and be eternally blessed? Repentance is turning from your sins and all efforts to save yourself, realizing that you are on a path that leads you away from God. Faith is putting your trust in Jesus Christ and the work He accomplished on the cross as all that is necessary for your salvation. Jesus says in John 6:37, "Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out".

"Thousands have fled to His spear-pierced side,

Welcomed they all have been--none are denied;

Weary and laden, they all have been blessed;

Joyfully now in the Saviour they rest."

If you will believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again, please pray this prayer with all of your heart:
